The Sindh government has distributed solar home system kits to 2,615 eligible families across 13 districts under its “Roshan Ghar – Roshan Sindh” initiative, aimed at expanding access to affordable and sustainable electricity.
The solar kits are being distributed under the Solar Home System Project of the Sindh Energy Department, with implementation being carried out by the Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO), according to an SRSO spokesperson.
The project aims to provide reliable and affordable solar energy solutions to 275,000 households across all 30 districts of Sindh. The beneficiaries are being selected through a transparent process based on eligibility criteria established by the provincial government.
According to SRSO, beneficiaries undergo a verification and scrutiny process before receiving the solar home systems. The kits are being provided free of cost to eligible households.
SRSO has also clarified that no fee or charge is being collected from beneficiaries at any stage, including surveys, verification, distribution or installation of the solar systems.

Sindh Expands Access to Solar Energy

By expanding the distribution of free solar home systems, the provincial government aims to support energy access, reduce electricity costs and promote sustainable power solutions across Sindh.
