The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has begun handing over allotment letters to affected people in Islamabad’s Sector E-12, marking progress in resolving a long-standing issue involving land acquisition, compensation and plot possession.
Sector E-12 is among Islamabad’s long-delayed residential sectors. Launched in 1989, its development was slowed for decades by land disputes, compensation claims and issues involving built-up properties. Many original allottees have been waiting for possession of their plots for years.
According to the latest report, CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa distributed allotment letters to affected people during a ceremony. The initiative is aimed at settling legitimate claims and removing obstacles to further development in the sector.
The development is particularly significant for families whose compensation and land-related claims remained unresolved. The CDA had previously instructed officials to ensure that genuine affected people receive their due rights without unnecessary delays. The authority also planned to facilitate eligible applicants through a One Window facility.
The issuance of E-12 allotment letters is part of broader efforts to address the land and possession issues that have held back development in the sector. Resolving legitimate claims could help the CDA secure the required land and accelerate infrastructure and development work.
Progress has already been reported in parts of E-12. In June 2026, the CDA engineering wing stated that around 1,500 plots across three sub-sectors were ready for possession. However, development work in E-12/4 had not started at the time because of unresolved land and built-up property issues.
