No Exceptions for Officers Using Tinted Glasses or Illegal Number Plates

The Lahore Traffic Police, under Chief Traffic Officer Athar Waheed, have announced stringent enforcement of traffic laws against police officers violating rules such as using tinted glasses and non-standard number plates on official vehicles. These officers will now face challans and legal action just like ordinary citizens.

Black window tints must be removed immediately, and any non-standard vehicle plates will be replaced to set a proper example for the public. This move complements broader traffic reforms in Punjab, including heightened fines, e-challans, and a points-based license suspension system aimed at curbing violations and improving road safety across the province.

The directive emphasizes equality before the law, with no exceptions for any government or police vehicles, enhancing transparency and discipline within law enforcement ranks. Traffic wardens have been instructed to apply these rules uniformly to all vehicles, reinforcing a culture of compliance and public trust. This enforcement comes amid efforts to relieve traffic congestion and reduce accidents in Lahore and other cities through stricter control and modernization of road safety measures.
