The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal housing schemes in Lahore, demolishing unauthorised structures in six housing societies along Sundar-Raiwind Road and Multan Road. The operation aims to curb unlawful development and protect property buyers from potential financial losses associated with unapproved housing projects.
According to a report published on October 12, 2026, the LDA demolition operation targeted six housing schemes and an unauthorised subdivision near Mal Pind. The affected projects included Mashallah Villas, Daman City, Maraka Marketing, Maraka Homes, Maraka City and New Lahore City.
During the operation, LDA teams demolished boundary walls, site offices, roads and other structures constructed without the required approvals. Officials said enforcement efforts would continue to prevent illegal development and ensure housing schemes comply with applicable regulations.
The action also serves as a warning to developers who launch or develop housing projects without obtaining the necessary permissions. The LDA Director General reiterated that action against illegal housing societies and unauthorised commercial activities would continue without discrimination.
For property buyers and investors, the crackdown highlights the importance of verifying a housing scheme's legal status before purchasing a plot. Investing in an unapproved project can lead to legal disputes, construction delays, financial losses and uncertainty over ownership rights.
Before making a property investment, buyers should check the housing scheme's approval status through official LDA records and confirm that the specific plot or block is covered by the approved layout plan. They should also verify ownership documents and payment terms rather than relying solely on advertisements or verbal assurances.
The latest operation underscores the need for due diligence in Lahore's property market, particularly for buyers considering plots in newly developed or privately marketed housing schemes.
