Honda Atlas Cars Limited Raises Car Prices

Karachi, Pakistan – Aspiring car owners and Honda enthusiasts across Pakistan are experiencing a notable pinch in their pockets as Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) officially announced substantial price hikes for a range of its cherished models. Effective July 1, the new pricing reflects an increase of Rs. 47,000 to Rs. 201,000, a direct consequence of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) levy recently imposed by the government within the federal budget for Fiscal Year 2026.

According to a price notice circulated to authorized dealerships, the popular Honda City lineup has been significantly affected. The Honda City 1.2MT is now priced at Rs. 4.696 million, marking an increase of Rs. 47,000. Similarly, the 1.2 CVT variant sees its price jump by Rs. 48,000 to Rs. 4.737 million, while the Aspire CVT now commands Rs. 5.969 million, up by a considerable Rs. 120,000.

The impact of the NEV levy is even more pronounced on Honda’s larger and more premium vehicles. The versatile Honda BR-V 1.5 CVT S is now available at Rs. 6.429 million, following an increase of Rs. 130,000. For those eyeing the sophisticated Honda Civic, the Oriel model has witnessed a surge of Rs. 175,000, bringing its new price to Rs. 8.834 million. The top-of-the-line Civic Turbo RS now sits at a hefty Rs. 10.10 million, an increase of Rs. 201,000.

HACL has clarified that while the company has diligently absorbed various economic challenges, including rupee depreciation and escalating freight costs, the recently introduced NEV levy falls beyond their control. Therefore, the additional burden has unfortunately been transferred to the end consumer. It is important for potential buyers to note that these revised prices are exclusive of freight charges and withholding tax, which will be applied based on prevailing rates. This move underscores the broader automotive industry’s response to new fiscal policies, impacting vehicle affordability across the board.
