CDA Postpones Petrol Pump Auction

CDA Postpones Petrol Pump Auction

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has postponed its planned petrol pump sites auction in Islamabad, which was scheduled for October 13, 2026. The decision has delayed the leasing of seven commercial sites across the federal capital, while a new auction date has yet to be announced.

According to The Nation, the auction was planned for registered oil marketing companies under a 20-year lease agreement. The seven sites were to be offered as a single package, providing eligible fuel suppliers with an opportunity to expand their operations in Islamabad.

The locations included Murree Road near Lake View Park, Blue Area, F-10, I-12 Markaz, G-8 Markaz, G-8/1 and G-11/1. These areas cover several commercial hubs and established sectors of the capital, where petrol pump facilities could serve residents, businesses and passing motorists.

The reason behind the postponement has not been disclosed in the published report. The CDA has also not announced a revised schedule for the bidding process, leaving interested companies waiting for further instructions from the authority.

The delay does not necessarily mean the auction has been cancelled permanently. The next step will depend on the CDA's announcement of a new date and any updated bidding requirements. Companies interested in participating should monitor official CDA announcements to stay informed about the auction schedule and lease conditions.

The proposed leasing of these seven sites could create new commercial opportunities for oil marketing companies and support fuel service availability across Islamabad. However, development at the selected locations will depend on the successful completion of the auction, the signing of lease agreements and the fulfilment of relevant regulatory requirements.

For now, the seven petrol pump sites remain awaiting the next stage of the CDA auction process.
