Sultan Gohar Named ABAD North Chairman for Two Years

The Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) has appointed Sultan Gohar, chief executive officer of Lake City Holdings, as Chairman of its North Region for a two-year term. The appointment aims to strengthen the association’s efforts to support growth and address challenges in Pakistan’s construction and real estate sectors.

According to Business Recorder, the ABAD Executive Committee approved Gohar’s nomination to lead the association’s North Region for the next two years. ABAD represents private builders and developers across Pakistan and works to address industry concerns, promote investment and support the development of the property sector.

Gohar has previously served in the same position, having been elected chairman of ABAD’s North Region for 2022-23, during Altaf Tai’s tenure as the association’s chairman. His experience in the real estate industry and leadership at Lake City Holdings are expected to help him represent the interests of developers and promote sustainable growth in the sector.

ABAD congratulated Gohar on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to contribute effectively to the industry. As North Region chairman, he is expected to represent builders and developers, address business-related challenges and encourage a more supportive environment for investment and construction activities.

The appointment was announced in Islamabad at a time when Pakistan’s construction and real estate industries continue to play an important role in economic activity, investment and employment. The sector also supports related industries, including cement, steel, building materials and construction services.

Developments in the property sector have a direct impact on homebuyers and investors. Rising construction material costs can increase the expense of building or purchasing a home, while policies that encourage investment and support developers may help improve housing opportunities and strengthen economic growth.
