Saudi Arabia’s Asyad Group has expressed strong interest in participating in Pakistan’s upcoming airport privatisation process as the Saudi investment group looks to expand its presence across key sectors of the Pakistani economy.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Ghassan Ahmed Amodi, CEO of Asyad Group and Chairperson of Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited’s Board of Directors, to discuss the group’s existing investments, expansion plans and new investment opportunities in Pakistan.
During the meeting, Amodi reaffirmed Asyad Group’s long-term commitment to Pakistan and said the country remains an important part of the group’s investment portfolio outside Saudi Arabia. He also highlighted plans to increase the group’s investment footprint and explore opportunities emerging from the government’s privatisation programme.
Amodi briefed the finance minister on Asyad Group’s interest in Pakistan’s airport privatisation process and its efforts to bring together Saudi and international partners with relevant technical expertise. He also shared the group’s growing international experience in airport operations.
The meeting also covered Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited’s expansion plans, including the development of its retail network, storage infrastructure and digitalisation initiatives. The company highlighted investments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of Pakistan, along with plans to expand its operations further.
Asyad Group is also exploring additional investment opportunities in Pakistan, including the financial sector, while seeking to facilitate collaboration between Saudi and Pakistani investors on potential projects.
Aurangzeb welcomed the continued interest of Saudi investors and highlighted opportunities created through Pakistan’s ongoing privatisation process. He stressed the importance of attracting credible, long-term investors and promoting commercially viable projects across key sectors.
The finance minister also highlighted Pakistan’s progress towards macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline and structural reforms, saying the government is focused on creating an enabling environment for sustainable investment and private-sector-led economic growth.
Aurangzeb further underscored Pakistan’s strategic location and potential to serve as a gateway to regional markets. He encouraged Asyad Group and other private-sector investors to identify viable projects and convert investment interest into tangible economic activity.
Amodi appreciated the government’s engagement with Saudi investors and reaffirmed Asyad Group’s commitment to expanding investments in Pakistan and strengthening economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
