The Punjab government has announced a new plan to construct 57,000 high-quality, affordable homes on government land across 21 districts of the province. The project, supervised by the Housing Department, aims to provide housing to eligible citizens through easy installment plans.
In the first phase, 41 sites have been selected for the construction of the initial 2,000 homes. The entire project is expected to be completed within five years and will be a joint effort involving the World Bank and the private sector.
According to authorities, the new homes will come with all essential facilities, and the government has pledged to maintain strict quality control throughout the construction process. The plan is now set to be presented to the provincial cabinet for final approval.
