The Punjab government has proposed a Rs4.23 billion residential project to build luxury apartments for government officers in Lahore. The project, included in the province’s 2026-27 development budget, is planned on around 60 kanals of government-owned land along Burki Road in Lahore Cantonment.
The Services and General Administration Department has proposed 24 two-bedroom apartments in a building featuring a basement, ground floor and six additional floors. The complex would also include facilities such as a gym, library, indoor games area, seminar room, executive lounge and café, along with a convention hall and extensive parking.
The proposal includes significant allocations for construction, generators, solar power, external development, furniture and gym equipment. However, Punjab’s Planning and Development Department has raised concerns about the project’s overall cost and questioned spending on imported materials and several high-cost facilities, including elevators, cooling systems, generators and backup power arrangements.
