Kachehri Chowk Construction Diversion Plan Revealed

RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has announced a detailed traffic diversion plan as all routes leading to Kachehri Chowk are set to close for the massive remodelling project, which began on November 3.

The mega project involves constructing three flyovers and three underpasses stretching from the Annexi area all the way to University Chowk. Due to the extent of the construction, significant traffic changes are now in effect.

Comprehensive Diversion Routes

Commuters must use the following new routes to navigate around the closed Kachehri Chowk area:

Origin Route Destination Diversion Route
From Rawat (via Jhelum Road) Old Airport Use Bahria Phase 1 and High Court Road.
From Jhelum Road Peshawar Road & New Airport Take Morgah Turn, then Attock Oil Refinery, Education Board Office, Defence Road, Khawaja Corporation Chowk, Tulsa Road, Tahli Mohri Chowk, Kalma Chowk, and Bakra Mandi to reach 22 Number Chowk.
From Jhelum Road Saddar & Murree Road Divert via New Lalazar, Foundation University, COD Chowk, Burki Chowk, Convent Chowk, and Family Ward Chowk to reach 22 Number Chowk.
From Old Airport Murree Road & Saddar Use Rawal Road, Fauji Tower, Tipu Road, and the route under Rahimabad Flyover to reach Moti Mahal.

The CTP urged all citizens to cooperate and follow the posted diversion signs to ensure smooth traffic flow during the construction period.
