K-Electric and MMC Set the Stage for BYD’s NEV Operations in Pakistan

In a major step toward domestic electric vehicle production, K-Electric (KE) and Mega Motor Company (MMC) BYD’s local partner have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to power BYD’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Pakistan.

The Power Agreement

K-Electric will provide a dedicated 5MW power connection, which is designed to be scalable up to 7.5MW as production demands grow. This infrastructure is vital for the facility as it prepares to go live in 2026.

  • Dedicated Infrastructure: BYD-MMC will develop and fund the power supply system.

  • Operational Readiness: The partnership ensures that the automaker's high-tech, automated assembly lines meet global performance and reliability standards.

  • Sustainability Goals: The deal aligns with Pakistan’s broader vision of reducing carbon emissions through New Energy Vehicles (NEVs).
