Islamabad, the meticulously planned capital of Pakistan, is on the cusp of a significant upgrade to its urban infrastructure. In a decisive move to combat persistent traffic congestion and enhance civic facilities, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has mandated the full operationalization of the much-anticipated Blue Area Parking Plaza within the next month.
This pivotal directive emerged from a high level meeting convened at CDA Headquarters, presided over by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The gathering saw the presence of key senior officials, including CDA Member Administration, Member Estate, Member Engineering, Member Finance, Member Planning, and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, all committed to steering Islamabad’s development forward.
During the comprehensive review, officials delved into the progress of various ongoing development projects across the city. These initiatives span critical sector developments in E12, C14, C15, C16, and I12, alongside crucial infrastructure enhancements at Shaheen Chowk and Kashmir Chowk. The ambitious remodeling of the Faizabad Interchange and the transformation of the CDA Nursery into the vibrant ‘Gardenia Hub’ also featured prominently. Updates on the construction of the Police Academy and expanded parking facilities for Pak Secretariat employees further underscored the CDA’s broad spectrum of developmental endeavors.
Chairman Randhawa passionately reiterated that elevating both residential and civic amenities remains the paramount objective for the CDA. He highlighted the ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship through the planting of eco friendly trees, the continuous upgrading of major roadways, and the strategic construction of underpasses, all designed to proactively address the city’s burgeoning traffic challenges.
Regarding the Blue Area Parking Plaza, a beacon of modern urban planning, officials confirmed that the remaining structural work, including the vital lift installations, has been successfully completed. The final touches, such as sophisticated lighting and comprehensive safety systems, are rapidly approaching their conclusion. Chairman Randhawa issued an unequivocal instruction: all pending electrical, mechanical, and fire safety installations must be finalized without delay, ensuring the facility is fully functional and ready to serve the public within the stipulated 30 day timeframe.
In a proactive measure to ensure holistic urban improvement, a specialized committee has been established. This diverse group comprises representatives from critical departments including Engineering, Environment, Road Marketing, Sanitation, Building Control, Finance, Estate Management, Enforcement, DMA, and the Islamabad Police. Their crucial mandate is to meticulously survey five of Islamabad’s major roads. This comprehensive assessment will identify needs for road upgrades, lighting enhancements, innovative landscaping, and other vital development requirements, guaranteeing their timely and efficient execution.
The meeting concluded with a powerful reaffirmation of the CDA’s unwavering dedication to accelerating Islamabad’s development trajectory. Through coordinated efforts, meticulous project management, and a strong sense of accountability, the authority is steadfast in its mission to significantly improve service delivery and elevate the quality of life for all citizens of Islamabad.
