Chinese electric bike manufacturer Horwin has sold 10,000 electric bikes in Pakistan within one year and is now exploring opportunities to localize its supply chain, technology, and manufacturing operations in the country. The move could pave the way for increased local production and stronger cooperation between Pakistan and China in the electric mobility sector.
During a media delegation visit to Horwin’s facilities in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, the company’s CEO and founder, Wendsor Zhou, highlighted Pakistan’s growing potential as a market for electric two-wheelers and related technologies.
According to Zhou, the sales milestone reflects rising business opportunities for Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers in Pakistan, where electric mobility is gaining attention as consumers and businesses explore alternative transportation solutions.
He noted that Horwin has been expanding its focus on international markets, with Pakistan offering opportunities in electric transportation, distribution networks, after-sales services, and potential manufacturing partnerships.
Zhou emphasized that establishing a sustainable presence in Pakistan requires a strong understanding of local market conditions, reliable business partnerships, and customer-focused strategies.
He also highlighted the potential of electric two-wheelers to provide Pakistani consumers with additional transportation options. However, broader adoption will depend on affordability, charging infrastructure, battery performance, maintenance facilities, and the availability of spare parts.
Closer cooperation between Chinese manufacturers and Pakistani businesses could strengthen distribution networks, improve access to electric bikes, and support the development of the local electric mobility industry.
Horwin’s reported sales of 10,000 units mark a significant milestone for the company in Pakistan. Its future expansion plans, including possible localization of manufacturing and technology, could create further opportunities for investment, business collaboration, and growth in the country’s electric two-wheeler market.
