The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has cancelled permission for a temporary site associated with the management of Centaurus Mall in Islamabad and ordered the management to vacate the approximately eight-kanal property within seven days.
The site, located near Plot No. 1 in the Blue Area, had originally been approved for use as a temporary site and marketing offices related to the plot. However, according to a CDA notice dated September 11, 2026, an inspection found that the property was being used for activities beyond the approved terms.
CDA officials reportedly found container-based accommodation for workers, toilets, a temporary mosque, badminton courts and construction materials at the site. The authority also stated that no marketing offices were found during the inspection.
The CDA further noted that the original temporary permission was issued for two years and had expired without renewal. As a result, the authority withdrew the permission with immediate effect and directed the management to clear the land.
In addition to the vacation order, CDA has directed the management to pay Rs48.45 million in outstanding dues. The management has seven days from receipt of the notice to vacate the site. Failure to comply could result in the CDA clearing the property at the management's risk and expense.
The action specifically concerns the temporary site in Islamabad's Blue Area and does not constitute an order to close or cancel Centaurus Mall itself.
