The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has generated Rs16.44 billion during the first two days of its three-day public auction of commercial plots in Islamabad, underscoring strong investor confidence in the capital's growing real estate market. The auction, being held at the Jinnah Convention Center, has attracted significant interest from investors seeking commercial and agricultural investment opportunities.
According to the CDA, the first day of the auction produced Rs13.81 billion in successful bids, while the second day added another Rs2.63 billion to the total revenue. The robust response reflects sustained demand for premium commercial and agricultural properties in Islamabad.
Among the major transactions, Agro Farm No. 18 located on Murree Road was auctioned for Rs1.212 billion, making it one of the highest-valued properties sold during the event. Agro Farm No. 17-A on Murree Road also received strong investor interest, fetching Rs966 million.
Several constructed commercial shops in the Blue Area Parking Plaza also attracted competitive bidding. Constructed Shop No. 8-A was sold for Rs151.66 million, while Shop No. 10-A secured a successful bid of Rs147.71 million. Constructed Shop No. 12-A was auctioned for Rs153.63 million, highlighting the continued demand for commercial properties in Islamabad's prime business district.
The three-day auction is scheduled to continue on August 6 at the Jinnah Convention Center, where additional commercial plots and properties will be offered to investors. CDA officials have described the event as a significant investment opportunity for businesses and individuals looking to expand their presence in Islamabad's rapidly developing commercial landscape.
Chairman of the Auction Committee, Muhammad Umair, stated that the revenue generated from the auction will be invested in the development of Islamabad's infrastructure and public services. He said the funds will support major development projects, improve civic amenities, address long-standing public issues, and help resolve the city's water supply challenges.
Muhammad Umair also appreciated the strong participation of investors, noting that the positive response demonstrates confidence in the capital's real estate sector. He reaffirmed the CDA's commitment to promoting sustainable urban development, modern infrastructure, and enhanced public facilities throughout Islamabad.
The CDA clarified that all bids submitted during the auction will undergo a comprehensive scrutiny process before being presented to the CDA Board. The board will review each bid and make the final decision on approval or rejection in accordance with the authority's established regulations.
The successful auction further reinforces Islamabad's position as one of Pakistan's most attractive destinations for commercial real estate investment, with growing investor confidence expected to support future development and economic activity in the federal capital.
