Apple has appointed Salman Dar as its first Head of Government Affairs for Pakistan, marking a significant development in the technology company’s engagement with the country.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja welcomed the appointment, saying it reflects growing engagement between Apple and Pakistan. She noted that government discussions with the company over the past two years, along with Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape, have helped strengthen the relationship.
Salman Dar confirmed his appointment as Head of Government Affairs – Pakistan at Apple. In his new role, he will lead the company’s government affairs activities in the country and support engagement with regulators, policymakers and other key stakeholders.
Minister Khawaja congratulated Dar on his new position and expressed hope that the appointment would lead to deeper cooperation and greater opportunities for Apple to expand its presence in Pakistan. She also acknowledged the support of Omar El Rifai, Apple’s Director of Government Affairs for the Middle East and Pakistan.
The appointment comes as Pakistan works to expand its digital economy, attract global technology companies and strengthen engagement with major international technology firms. Apple’s move is expected to provide a dedicated channel for dialogue with Pakistani authorities and stakeholders as the company explores opportunities in the country.
