👪 What Happens if Property Has Multiple Heirs?

When a property owner dies without a will (intestate), the property is divided among legal heirs under Islamic inheritance laws.

Steps to Inherit:

  1. Obtain a Legal Heirship Certificate from the civil court
  2. Submit the certificate along with death certificate to the local revenue office
  3. Get the property mutated into the names of all heirs

Important Points:

  • No heir can sell the entire property without written consent from all other legal heirs
  • If one heir wants to buy out others, execute a formal gift deed or sale agreement
  • Joint ownership must be disclosed in any resale attempt
